The charity fair held at our school took place in a wonderful atmosphere with the tremendous support of our students, parents, and teachers. The dedication, solidarity, and kindness of everyone involved reflected beautifully throughout the day.
Homemade delicacies, handcrafted items, and student-made products attracted great attention during the event. All proceeds from the fair were donated to the OZAV Foundation, established in memory of our alumnus Ozan Can Akkuş, who lost his life in the 2016 Ankara Güvenpark attack.
At the time of his passing, Ozan Can Akkuş was a young Electrical and Electronics Engineering student at Middle East Technical University (METU). Known for his bright mind, love for people, and devotion to his country, his memory continues to inspire many young individuals today.
Founded to honor his legacy, the OZAV Foundation aims to support young people who follow Atatürk’s path of modern, scientific, and free thought.
This meaningful charity fair was thoughtfully organized by GKV Private Cemil Alevli IBDP High School Grade 10A students — Ada Eltemur, İrem Ayça Yener, and Limar İlter. Their social awareness and sense of responsibility reflected the true spirit of the day.
As part of the event, Senem Alkurt, Chairperson of the Board of the OZAV Foundation, visited our school. She was deeply moved by the students’ empathy and spirit of solidarity, and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to, participated in, and supported this meaningful day.
Standing together, sharing together, and spreading kindness together make us stronger.
Let’s remember: solidarity matters not only for one day, but every day.
